Cascais Opens Cruise Terminal

The upmarket seaside resort of Cascais, west of Lisbon, became Portugal's newest cruise destination when the Seven Seas Mariner docked there recently.
More than 700 passenger streamed off the luxury vessel onto the town's streets to mark an achievement that has been years in the pipeline.
The Seven Seas Mariner is the first of several large cruise ships due to dock in Cascais over the coming months, including The World, a unique sea vessel described as a privately-owned residential community at sea.
In total, some 3,200 passengers will be spending time in and around Cascais between now and November 2013.
