Alentejo Food Highlighted in the Daily Telegraph

The gastronomy of one of Portugal's most rustic tourist regions, the Alentejo, was recently featured in the Daily Telegraph, a leading newspaper in the United Kingdom.
Described as a 'food lover's paradise', the publication ranked the Alentejo as one of the country's top gastronomic destinations, with a range of regional specialities including fresh Atlantic seafood, creamy local cheeses, ham and pork from acorn-fed black pigs, delicious olive oil, tempting local desserts and noteworthy wines.
'If you’re planning a trip to the Alentejo,' wrote the newspaper, 'it’s worth dispensing with the diet before you arrive – you won’t want to miss the fabulous food on offer. Throughout the region’s restaurants and hotels, you’ll find a great deal of pride is taken in showcasing local meats and seafood.'
The article also focused on the fine wines of the Alentejo region, which it said 'are quietly gaining the international recognition they deserve'. Readers were also urged to 'dine on the property and gain a greater appreciation of how the region’s wines can be matched with its gastronomic specialities'.
