Flagship Vila Galé Unit Opens in Paço de Arcos

A new hotel of undeniable style and elegance opened its doors for the first time recently in the seaside suburb of Paço de Arcos, just west of Lisbon.
Converted from a late 15th century palace, the Vila Galé Collection Palácio dos Arcos is the flagship and first 5-star property of the Lisbon-based Vila Galé chain, which now comprises twenty-four hotels in Portugal and Brazil.
The main palace building has been intricately restored to house three bedrooms, two suites, a library, reception area and the upmarket Inevitável restaurant.
Based on the theme of the classic poets such as Lord Byron, John Keats and William Shakespeare, the lavish €10 million development also consists of a series of newly-built sections with 71 standard rooms and 5 suites set behind a spacious garden-pool area.
Other facilities include a chapel, underground parking, pool and lounge bars, a dedicated conference room and the Satsanga spa centre with massage rooms, Turkish bath, gymnasium, sauna, Jacuzzi and indoor pool.
