Winter Surfing in the Oeste Region

The Maximum Surfcamp school in Peniche has capitalised on the town's rise to fame as a first-choice surfing destination by launching a value-added winter package priced from around €250 per person per week, including accommodation and use of all the necessary equipment such as surfboard, wetsuit, etc.
Established in 1996, the school was one of the first to open in Portugal and has grown into a popular centre for beginners and experienced surfers alike.
The surfcamp is located in Baleal, on the northern outskirts of Peniche, where some of the best waves in the whole of Portugal can be found, particularly during winter and most notably on the legendary Supertubos beach.
Accommodation consists of self-catering apartments with all the basic facilities like a shower, cooker, fridge and cable TV. Breakfast and other meals can also be provided at an additional cost.
Tuition is an important part of the package with fully-qualified instructors on hand to guide students through the rudiments of surfing, complete with video correction sessions afterwards.
The social programme is a lively affair with barbecues, sightseeing tours, themed dinners and caipirinha parties organised for surfcamp residents looking to make friends and share their experiences with fellow students.
